The cannon multiplier scales bullet cost and payout together: a small cannon suits the opening, reading school density and spawn rhythm; a big cannon suits a brief switch once you've judged a boss or a dense school and want to go for a settlement. Blasting on the biggest cannon the whole way is the fastest way for a beginner to empty a bankroll.

Tiered fish: don't only watch the boss

Only shooting bosses just widens the variance; it doesn't change the long-run expectation.

Their value depends heavily on timing: fired at a dense school or when a boss appears, the return is noticeably higher than using them on a whim. Treat a weapon as a resource to save for the right window, not something to clear the moment you have it.
